Research in Brief
My research focuses on the physical and hydraulic functioning of soils and their interactions with water and the environment. It integrates soil physics, soil hydrology, hydropedology, geostatistics, and solute transport to understand soil processes across different spatial scales.A particular focus of my recent work is the relationship between soil structure and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity, with the aim of developing new approaches to characterize and evaluate soil hydraulic structure and quality.
Education and Teaching
My teaching activities focus on linking fundamental concepts in soil science with quantitative methods and real-world environmental problems. I teach courses in areas including soil physics, soil hydrology, pedology, geostatistics, and environmental biophysics, with an emphasis on developing analytical thinking and a process-based understanding of soil–water–environment interactions.Course materials, lecture notes, and presentations are provided to support both undergraduate and graduate learning.
Science, Society and Environment
Science, Society and Environment is a space where I reflect on the connections between scientific knowledge, society, and everyday life. Here, I share essays, book reflections, and perspectives on science, environment, society, and sustainability.Many of today’s local and global challenges are deeply interconnected, involving ecological, social, economic, and institutional processes. I therefore approach these issues from a holistic and systemic perspective, seeking not only to understand problems but also to explore solutions grounded in scientific knowledge and real-world conditions.I hope this space will encourage open discussion, bring scientific thinking closer to everyday life, and contribute to a broader dialogue on more sustainable pathways for the future.
